Market valuations appear a little expensive following the recovery in equity prices. But governments around the world, particularly those in major Western countries such as the US, seem determined to fight strong deflationary forces with extraordinary monetary and fiscal stimulus, providing support for economies and markets everywhere. These measures should continue to provide relief in the short term, but they may also be damaging the health of financial markets in the longer term.
